Hanukkah

Jan 05, 2022

Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday celebrating the light. Christmas in December is a day of universal celebration, but the Jews still hold an attitude of rejection to the Lord Jesus. It is no different from two thousand years ago. So Christmas is meaningless to the Jews, and they are not interested. Although the Jews do not celebrate Christmas, there is another feast every year that is similar to Christmas, which is the Feast of Dedication in the Bible.

During the eight days of the Feast of Dedication, Jews set up "Hanuka lamps" in their homes, on the roofs, by the sidewalks, in synagogues, in hotels, and wherever they can be placed, just like Christians. It's like a Christmas tree. "Hanuka lights" can be as small as mastery, and can be as large as several floors. They can be lighted by olive oil and light by electricity. They are well-equipped and dizzying. On the first day of the festival, there will be two candles, and then one will be added every day to make the lamp stand brighter and brighter. On the last day of the festival, the nation's mood was boiling, and everyone gathered in the hall or hotel to participate in the ceremony to light the last lantern. After the solemn ceremony, everyone was grateful and praised with great joy, singing and dancing. Because the climax of the festival is the lampstand that lights up everywhere, the Feast of Dedication is also called "Hanukkah" or "Festival of Lights".
